Again and again,
When I felt your breath
Fresh, halting, fearful, inviting…

Faceless Night Of The City
24 May 2006Haze of cigarettes,
Drugs and drink,
Cloud humanity..
Four legged animals thrash away,
As flowering innocence is lost.
A dark veil descends over the mind,
As purses weigh more than life.
Faceless beings,
Faces of death,
Sunken cheeks and sockets deep,
Stare without reason and stare away.
And as the first rays of the sun,
Break forth,
They slither away,
To hide from day,
To break forth when its time [...]

Her fingers entwined in mine
Not seeing the lights jumping off the curtain
Seeing her, seeing me, unmoving
Her eyes fearful, yet longing.
I asked if she would like to make love
And she said, “I am”.
Conscience
20 May 2006His eyes meandered,
Trying to follow the flies cloaking him in a shawl.
It was hot enough already.
He picked up some of the morsels of his rotten meal,
Mixing it with some shiny sand,
Playing with it.
Upstairs I sat, stoic and dignified,
Trying to ignore him raising his hand
Offering to share.
Then our eyes met
For just a second
